Conf2Git · Markdown Sync for Confluence

Write in Confluence.
Put it to work in GitHub.

Conf2Git creates a one-way mirror of Confluence content in GitHub using the Open Knowledge Format (OKF): readable Markdown with metadata and links. Run a sync when you need it, or opt in to scheduled synchronization.

The mirror uses a dedicated, non-default GitHub branch. It’s a connection between your tools, not a claim of two-way synchronization or a full backup.

OPEN KNOWLEDGE FORMAT

Knowledge that travels.

Conf2Git’s native export uses OKF v0.2. Each exported page combines Markdown with structured metadata, including its title and Confluence source link, so people and tools can follow the knowledge back to its source.

Keep documentation readable in GitHub, compare changes in Git, and reuse the files in your own search or AI workflows. An open format gives your knowledge more places to be useful as your tools change.

PUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE TO WORK

Useful beyond the wiki.

REFERENCE & ARCHIVES

A versioned reference copy.

Keep a readable copy of exported content in GitHub, compare revisions, and inspect earlier mirrored versions in Git history. Use it as a reference archive alongside your backup and retention controls.

The mirror follows source changes. Complete Confluence backups, original version history, and point-in-time recovery still need provider-native controls.

RETRIEVAL AUGMENTED GENERATION

More context for your AI.

Use the Markdown, source links, and metadata as inputs to your retrieval augmented generation (RAG) workflows. Bring runbooks, architecture decisions, and team documentation into the context your applications retrieve.

Conf2Git refreshes the repository mirror; your retrieval pipeline handles indexing, embeddings, and access controls.

SYNC ON YOUR TERMS

Choose where and when.

Choose the source Confluence space and destination GitHub repository, dedicated branch, and folder. Run a sync on demand, or opt in to a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule with your chosen timezone and local time.

Scheduled opportunities are checked hourly, so synchronization is periodic rather than real-time.

NO SYNC INFRASTRUCTURE TO RUN

One less service to maintain.

Conf2Git runs on Atlassian Forge. You do not need to host a sync server, maintain a cron job, or operate a separate content-processing service to keep the mirror refreshed.

Connect Confluence and GitHub, choose your sync settings, and keep your attention on the knowledge itself.
